Can you refinance a car with the same lender?

I've been with my credit union for over a decade and we have a great rapport. I've built my credit up in the past year and I want to refinance my car—but I don't want to go to another bank or union. Can I do this with the same lender?

You can absolutely refinance a
car loan
with the same lender, especially if you have a strong, long-lasting relationship. Because you’re familiar with the process, this is probably the easiest route to refinance your vehicle!
That said, you shouldn’t overlook other lenders. Shopping around is always advisable when you’re refinancing, as it can save you money and help you find the best rate—plus, it’s a good bargaining chip to have if you want to stay with your current lender. You can bring your best interest rate to your current lender and see if they can match it.
When you’re refinancing, you should also analyze your car insurance policy. One of the easiest ways to make sure you’re getting the best deal on the coverage you need is with the
Jerry
app—we’ll get you customized quotes from top-of-the-line providers, so that all you need to do is choose the plan that works best for you! (And once you choose one, we’ll even help you switch.)
Best of luck with refinancing!
