Can you powder coat a car?

I need to get my car’s paint job touched up, so I’m debating on what to pick for a coating. Can you powder coat a car?

Yes, you can powder coat a car—and there are plenty of advantages for doing so!
Powder coating tends to be more durable and longer-lasting than liquid paint jobs, and its often more efficient and less wasteful, too. Also, unlike liquid paint, powder coating often contains fewer volatile organic compounds (VOCs), which are harmful to the environment and can cause health problems.
That said, powder coating is typically used for smaller, more specific car components. That’s largely because the process requires a high-temperature curing step to set the powder coating.
Another reason is that if your car body were damaged and needed a paint touch-up, you’d likely have to strip the powder coating and start over, making it a little impractical. It’s common to powder coat the underside of a car’s hood or its wheel rims or undercarriage to provide some added durability and protection.
