Can you lie about your income on a car loan?

Can you fib about your income to get a car loan? I want to buy a new car, but I'm worried that I won't have enough income on paper to do it.

“You probably won’t get away with lying about your income.
Dealerships and other lenders require
proof of income
through your pay stubs.
If you can’t procure these pay stubs, they likely won’t work with you.
Plus, lying about your income is immoral and you don’t want to start a relationship with a lender off on the wrong foot.
Many factors go into loan consideration and your lower income may not prevent you from buying a car.
Come prepared to the dealership
so they can figure out how much lending you qualify for.”
