Unfortunately, since it is front-wheel drive, you can’t flat tow a Jetta without damaging the transmission.
Instead, you’ll need to dolly tow your car or get a trailer for your vehicle to ride on. When dolly towing a car, you’ll place two of the wheels on a tow dolly and pull the vehicle along on the other two wheels.
If you’re interested in trying to dolly tow your Jetta, talk to your moving truck rental location about renting a tow dolly as well. Many rental truck shops will also rent out towing equipment, and they will likely even help you install it on your moving truck.
