Whether you can flat tow your Chevy Silverado depends on a few factors. If you have a four-wheel-drive Chevy Silverado with a two-speed transfer case, you can definitely tow your Silverado, regardless of the trim or model year.
However, you cannot tow your Silverado if it’s a two-wheel-drive or if it has a single-speed transfer case. You can tell if your Silverado is four-wheel drive by the emblems on the rear tailgate or graphics near the rear fender.
If you’re unsure about the transfer case, look for 4-LO and 4-HI settings on your four-wheel drive stick. If you don’t have them, you have a single-speed transfer case and cannot tow your truck. In this case, you’ll need a flatbed trailer to tow your truck.
