Can you flat tow a 2021 Chevy Equinox?
I’m in the process of buying an SUV, and the dealer near me has a 2021 Equinox at a great price. That said, my family goes camping in our RV a few times a year, so I’d like to be able to pull the vehicle without buying a separate trailer. Can I flat tow a 2021 Chevy Equinox?

According to the owner’s manual, you can flat tow a 2021 Chevy Equinox without any issues. This goes for every trim and drivetrain.
The only thing you need to do is make sure that you tow correctly by setting up your Equinox. Fortunately, the process is easy. Just follow these steps:
- Position the vehicle to be towed and secure it to the towing vehicle.
- Start the vehicle.
- Engage the all-wheel-drive if your Equinox has it.
- Shift the transmission to neutral.
- Then, put the vehicle into ACC mode by pressing the push-button start one time without the brake pedal applied.
- You should see an amber light appear on the ACC button.
- Turn off all accessories that you don’t need, and you’re ready to roll.
