Can you flat tow a 2020 Subaru Forester?

I have a 2020 Subaru Forester, and it’s been running great since I bought it. However, I was wondering how I should tow the car if it ever breaks down or I am in an emergency. Is it possible to flat tow a 2020 Subaru Forester?

You should not flat tow a 2020 Subaru Forester. The Forester is equipped with all-wheel drive, and flat towing can severely damage the drivetrain and transmission.

Using a flatbed trailer is always the better option to avoid damage. However, in an emergency, you can flat tow the Forester. Just make sure that the car is in neutral, the key is in the on position, and you don’t go any faster than 45 mph. The maximum distance you should flat tow the Forester is 30 miles.
