Can you flat tow a 2020 Jeep Renegade?
I’ve accepted my parents’ invitation to join them in October for a fall foliage motorhome tour of the Northeast. My dad actually made a good suggestion—he says I should hitch my Jeep to the back of the trailer so I can head off on my own in the evenings. Can I flat tow my 2020 Jeep Renegade?

Looks like you’re in for a totally immersive fall foliage tour! Unfortunately, you cannot flat tow a 2020 Jeep Renegade because you will likely damage your transmission.
When flat towing any vehicle, its four wheels touch the ground and are constantly rotating. If you were to flat tow a 2020 Jeep Renegade, your wheels would rotate alright, but the engine wouldn’t be running. This means there would be no oil running through the Renegade’s engine or drivetrain for lubrication, leaving your transmission at risk of incurring serious damage.
Jeep specifically advises against flat towing the 2020 Renegade, so if you go ahead and do so, and your Jeep is damaged, you may be found to have violated the terms of that warranty.
In short, don’t flat tow your 2020 Jeep Renegade. Instead, enjoy the fall foliage—and the company!
