Can you flat tow a 2019 Ford Edge ST?
I am going to be going on a cross-country RV trip soon, and I want to tow my Ford Edge ST with me. Can the 2019 Ford Edge ST be flat towed?

In order to flat tow your Ford Edge St, you’ll need the following items:
- Trailer hitch on your motorhome
- Base plate for the front of your Ford Edge ST
- Tow bar
- Safety cables
- Flat tow signal and brake wires
- Supplemental braking system
Be sure that your RV’s towing capacity can handle the 4,477-pound curb weight of your Ford Edge ST.
Next, follow these steps to connect your 2019 Ford Edge ST to your motorhome.
- Run your engine for five minutes to properly lubricate your Edge ST’s mechanical components.
- Turn off your engine and connect your tow bar and safety cables.
- Block your wheels to prevent your Edge from rolling.
- Disconnect your Ford Edge’s transmission. On manual models, this is done by shifting into neutral. On automatic models, you must disconnect a cable under the Edge ST’s steering wheel.
- Disconnect your battery
- Connect your signal and brake wires, aka electrical wires.
- Connect your supplemental braking system.
- Double check that your brakes and signals work.
- Double check your tow bar and safety cable connections.
Finally, you’ll want to make sure that you have adequate
