Can you flat tow a 2018 Mini Cooper?

Yes, a 2018 Mini Cooper can be flat towed so long as it is front-wheel drive and has a manual transmission. Flat towing an automatic Mini Cooper can cause serious damage to the vehicle’s transmission.
Your 2018 Mini Cooper weighs about 2,750lbs, so you’ll want to make sure that your motorhome has the towing capacity to handle that. You’ll also need the following:
- Tow bar
- Trailer hitch (on the towing vehicle)
- Base plate (for towed vehicle)
- Tow bar wiring kit
- Safety cables
- Supplemental braking system
Keep in mind that flat towing your 2018 Mini Cooper can void your transmission warranty if you’re trying to have a problem fixed that was caused during the tow.
