Can you flat tow a 2018 Chevy Malibu?

I just bought a brand-new Fleetwood RV, and I’m itching to get it out on the road for a camping trip. However, I want to take my 2018 Malibu with me if possible. Can I flat tow the 2018 Chevy Malibu, or do I need to tow it differently?

**You can flat tow a 2018 1.5-liter Chevy Malibu without active shutters. Other versions, like the 2-liter Malibu or the 1.5-liter version with active shutters, can’t be flat towed.
To tow a 1.5-liter Malibu without active shutters, follow these steps:
  1. Position the vehicle to tow and then secure it to the towing vehicle.
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Put the vehicle in neutral.
  4. Turn the engine off.
  5. To prevent the battery from draining while the vehicle is being towed, remove fuses F10 and F41 from the fuse panel.
If you have active shutters or the 2.0-liter Malibu, you’ll need to either use a two-wheel dolly or a flatbed trailer to avoid damaging the transmission.
Flatbed trailers range in price between $1,000 and $3,000. To help you pay for the trailer or save up for it, slash your
