Can you flat tow a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I have a heavy-duty truck with up to 10,000 pounds of towing capacity. I want to take my Grand Cherokee with me on my next trip and avoid buying a trailer if possible. Can I flat tow my 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

In short, maybe. It all depends on the drivetrain of your vehicle. You should be able to easily tow your 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee as long as you have 4WD, 4-LO Range, and a two-speed power transfer unit. Note that you should not flat tow a 2WD Grand Cherokee under any circumstances.
If you have a rear-wheel-drive Grand Cherokee, you will have to get a flatbed trailer to tow the vehicle, as any other type of towing will damage the underpinnings of the vehicle.
