I’m moving to a new city, and I want to tow my Ford Escape behind a moving truck I’m renting. I can’t find any information that tells me how to go about this. Can a 2017 Ford Escape be flat towed?

Good luck with the move! You cannot flat tow a 2017 Ford Escape. The only way it can be towed behind a moving truck is with a tow dolly.
Some Ford Escapes come with a factory-equipped towing package, or you may be able to buy one separately. A towing package typically comes with the following:
A 4-way trailer wiring harness
A hitch receiver
Trailer sway control
No matter how you proceed, use these tips to safely tow a car:
Know your trailer inside and out
Make wide turns
Allow for more stopping distance
Stick to the right lane when driving on the highway
Ask someone to spot you when going in reverse or parking
Practice towing before you hit the road
