My wife and I are planning to take our RV out on a road trip and want to take our 2005 Chevy Colorado to the campsite with us. Can it be flat towed?

The 2005 Chevy Colorado can be flat-towed if it is a 4x4 with a neutral gear and 4WD low setting. You can check with your owner’s manual under recreational vehicle towing.
Here’s how you can set up your Colorado for flat-towing:
- Drive the Colorado behind the RV and set the parking brake
- Automatic transmission should be put in PARK or manual transmission put in FIRST
- Attach the Colorado securely—be sure the wheels are straight
- Shift the transfer case to NEUTRAL and release the parking brake
- Turn the ignition to LOCK
If you don’t plan to drive your truck for over six weeks, unplug the negative terminal to prevent battery drainage.
