The 2005 Chevy Colorado can be flat-towed if it is a 4x4 with a neutral gear and 4WD low setting. You can check with your owner’s manual under recreational vehicle towing.
Here’s how you can set up your Colorado for flat-towing:
Drive the Colorado behind the RV and set the parking brake
Automatic transmission should be put in PARK or manual transmission put in FIRST
Attach the Colorado securely—be sure the wheels are straight
Shift the transfer case to NEUTRAL and release the parking brake
Turn the ignition to LOCK
If you don’t plan to drive your truck for over six weeks, unplug the negative terminal to prevent battery drainage.
