Can you extend your Kia warranty?
I’m nearing the end of my 5-year bumper-to-bumper Kia factory warranty. Is there an option to extend my warranty with Kia?

You’re in luck—Kia does offer an extended warranty! This is a warranty that you purchase from Kia after your initial factory warranty has run out.
Kia has a comprehensive factory warranty which includes a 10 year/100,000 mile powertrain warranty, 5 year/60,000 mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, 10 year/100,000 anti-perforation warranty, and 5 years or 60,000 miles of roadside assistance.
There may be a time when part of your Kia is covered and part is not. For example, if you’ve owned your Kia for seven years, your bumper-to-bumper coverage will have lapsed, but your powertrain will still be covered for another three years.
When your factory warranty has expired, in part or in full, you may want to think about purchasing an extended warranty.
Kia offers five levels for their extended warranties, all offering protection for up to 120,000 miles:
- Powertrain: Covers engine and drivetrain components
- Silver: Covers powertrain plus front suspension, brakes, air conditinoning, electrical components, and steering
- Gold: Covers everything included in the Silver package as well as hybrid/plug-in parts
- Gold Plus: Covers everything in the Gold package plus engine cooling system
- Platinum: Exclusionary bumper-to-bumper coverage
