Can you drive a right-hand drive car in the US?

In the UK they make right-hand drive cars, but I’m moving to the US soon. Will I be able to drive a right-hand drive car there, or will I have to learn how to operate a left-hand drive car?

Yes, you can legally drive a right-hand drive car in the US! In fact, many postal vehicles are right-hand drive in order to make delivery easier for mail carriers.
Just like the typical left-hand drive vehicles in the states, however, any right-hand drive car that you want to use will have to be up to US safety standards in order to be legally drivable.
If your state requires
car inspections
, your vehicle will have to pass one of those as well.
You’ll also be required to get a US insurance policy. Insurance can be complicated and overwhelming, so I recommend using the
Jerry
app. With Jerry, you can see a list of car insurance quotes that work for you in minutes. Plus, the average user saves $887 per year.
