While you can jumpstart your lawn mower’s battery with your car, you shouldn’t let your car charge your lawn mower.
Most vehicles and lawnmowers both use 12-volt batteries, but a car’s alternator provides way too much power for a lawnmower battery to handle. In short, if you connect your lawn mower to your vehicle and then start your vehicle’s engine – BOOM.
To get your lawn mower going again:
Make sure your vehicle is off
Use jumper cables to hook your lawn mower up to your vehicle like when you jumpstart a car
Leave the cables connected for a few minutes
Start your lawnmower
Let the lawnmower run to recharge the battery
Dead batteries can be a hassle, but finding affordable
