You can buy a Nissan extended warranty after purchase as long as your factory warranty hasn’t expired.
There are three extended warranty options available with different levels of coverage for 8 years or 120,000 miles, whichever comes first:
- Powertrain preferred: covers the cost of repair or replacement of 839 components due to mechanical breakdown
- Silver preferred: covers everything in the Powertrain preferred tier plus over 690 additional components
- Gold preferred: Nissan’s highest coverage that protects every component in your vehicle except regular maintenance, cosmetic damage, and physical damage.
If you’re still on the fence about the extended warranty, the following points may help you decide:
- The extended warranty is transferable to a new owner for a nominal fee if you decide to sell your Nissan
- You can choose the deductible per visit, up to $100, which adjusts the cost of your monthly premium
- Your car must be serviced at an authorized Nissan dealership to make use of the extended warranty
- Nissan pays the dealership directly for the repairs so you don’t have to pay upfront and wait to be reimbursed
- Flexible terms that allow you to choose how you will be paying for the extended warranty
