Can you buy a NIO electric car in America?

I’ve been reading about electric cars lately, and I’m really impressed with everything I’ve seen from Chinese EV automaker NIO. Is it possible to test drive or buy a NIO electric car in the U.S.?

Doing the research on your new
electric car
is one of the best steps you can make as a consumer, so good on you for doing the work! For anyone not familiar, NIO is a Chinese electric car manufacturer that was first founded in 2014 and has already expanded to European markets.
It is not yet possible to buy NIO cars in the U.S., but the company has announced plans to expand services to 25 new countries and regions by 2025 including Australia, Western Europe, and the United States.
The U.S. branch of NIO also recently signed a 10-year lease on a building in San Jose, California. The 200,000 sq ft space is just two minutes away from its current headquarters, and as of January 2022, the company was hiring for several positions related to infrastructure and development. The dream of being able to drive one of these popular Chinese cars in America may become a reality sooner than later.
