Can you be an insured and non-rated driver?
My mother just moved in with my husband and me. She doesn't drive much but occasionally borrows our car. I thought I listed her on our policy with Allstate, but I just learned she's a non-rated driver. Does this mean she's not covered?

A driver’s rating determines whether or not their driving history will affect your rates, not their coverage. If your mother is non-rated, it simply means her driving won’t affect your premiums, but she should still have coverage through your
Allstate
policy. A separate classification from ratings is exclusion, which means that someone doesn’t have coverage on a policy.
To be sure, you can always check with Allstate. Confirming whether or not your mother has coverage is better now than after an accident.
