Can someone else insure my financed car?

I recently purchased a new car that I’ve wanted for so long. I’m so excited to drive around in my new vehicle. However, I wanted to know if my partner could put me on their car insurance even though the car is financed under my name. Can someone else insure my financed car?

How exciting! Congrats on finding your dream vehicle and for being able to make your dreams a reality.
To answer your question, yes, someone else can insure your financed car. Your partner can absolutely add your car to their insurance. However, the one stipulation is you must be the primary policyholder.
So, your new car will need to be added, and the account will need to list you as the primary policyholder effective immediately. Then, you and your partner—and your vehicles—should be all set!
