"We already have one car loan, but my wife needs a car to get to work. However, she's Puerto Rican and doesn't have a driver's license yet.
We both have great credit and a combined income of over $100,000 per year.

“While there’s no law that says the buyer of a vehicle has to have a driver’s license, many lenders will want her to, especially if she’s on the loan.
If you have enough income on your own, you might be able to get the loan by yourself to make things less complicated. Otherwise, you should encourage your wife to get a license in your current state of residence. This will make it far easier for her to get approved for the loan.”
