Can my homeowners insurance help pay for a new front porch?

Our front porch was improperly built by the first owners of our home. We have tried to fix it, but it's extremely unstable. Would our homeowners insurance help pay for the costs?

“Since you purchased the home with an improperly built porch, you wouldn’t be able to file a claim with your insurance company.
While home insurance policies will pay for reasonable repairs, the damage needs to be from a covered peril that occured while you are or were insured.
Home insurance
is designed to protect an insured from an accident or unforeseen hazard. An improperly built porch would likely be seen as normal maintenance and wear under a policy, which isn’t covered.
You should look into getting the porch repaired or replaced as soon as possible. Since the instability should have been reported to your insurance during the application, it needs to be fixed immediately or you risk your insurance being cancelled.”
