Can I use a kitchen sponge to wash my car?
I was washing my car in the driveway, and my mother came outside, yelling at me that the kitchen sponge I was using would hurt the paint. She insisted I go down to AutoZone and buy a microfiber sponge, which I did because I love my mom. But is she right? Or can I use a kitchen sponge to wash my car?

A used sponge can contain tiny particles of dirt that will scratch a finish if you rub it over your car’s paint. But even new sponges are abrasive.
