Can I take a driving test if the registration has expired and I don't have an insurance card?
My car registration expired a few weeks ago, and I can't find my insurance card. Can I still go ahead with my driving test?

“The DMV where you take your driver’s test is the same place where you pay for your registration. Obviously, they will check to see if your vehicle is registered, and if it’s not, they will tell you that you need to register it when you arrive.
Furthermore, no DMV will allow you to take a test in an uninsured vehicle. This is not only for legal reasons, but also for the safety of the employee administering the driving test.
So if you’re going to take the test, make sure to bring money to re-register the vehicle, as well as an up-to-date insurance card. If you can’t find a paper copy of your proof of

and you need it in a pinch, you should be able to download a card from your insurance provider’s website.”View full answer
