Can I make modifications and add aftermarket parts to a financed car?

I want to make some mods to my car, including bigger wheels and a body kit. Can I do this if I'm financing the car?

The lender is only a lienholder on the vehicle, so you’re the actual owner. You can do whatever you want to it.
Keep in mind that many aftermarket parts, especially those perceived as outlandish by others, may actually lower the value of the vehicle, even if you spent a ton of money on them.
In addition, you need to call your insurer and tell them what type of modifications you’re making to your vehicle, as failure to do so could void your
auto insurance
.
Make sure your insurance isn’t canceled because it’s illegal to drive without it and you don’t want to find out it was voided after getting into an accident or while
being pulled over
