You can ask the police for help. Another option is to visit the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). If you have a legitimate reason—like you were the victim of a hit-and-run accident—your local DMV may provide you with the other driver’s insurance information.
Once you’ve identified the other party and accessed their insurance info, pass it along to your insurance provider. They will contact the at-fault driver’s insurance company for you.
