Can I file an insurance claim if my car’s wheel fell off and caused damage to my car?

After repairing my car's brakes, I went to the store and on the way home my wheel fell off. I had noticed a vibration just before and went to pull over, but it was too late. The wheel came off, causing thousands in damage. Will my insurance help cover the repair bill, or am I out of luck since there was not really a collision?

It actually sounds as though there might have been a collision. Your car’s body and underside could have collided with the ground once the wheel came off, and that kind of damage may be covered by
car insurance
as long as you have full coverage.
What will probably not be covered is the damage that actually caused the wheel to fall off.
Also, your insurance adjuster will probably want to know who performed the repairs to your vehicle’s brakes. Depending on the cause of the collision,
your insurance company
may be able to recover some of the repair costs from the shop. If you did the brake repairs, then this obviously wouldn’t apply.
But, of course, the only way to confirm any of this is to contact your insurance company or agent. Get in touch with them as soon as you can.
If you’re unhappy with how your insurance company handles your claim then it may be time to change providers. You can do this easily with the
