Here’s how to add another name to a car title:
- Sign the back of the title after you purchase the car in your name.
- Write your name and the other person’s name on the “Buyer” section.
- Have the title notarized.
- Fill out a Transfer of Title form.
- Submit the form online or at your local DMV.
Be sure to check your state’s processes for title/loan transfers, as they can vary.
