My driver’s license is getting suspended, and I’m worried the whole situation could damage my employment status. Will I get fired for losing my license?

License suspensions can be tricky, but they shouldn’t usually impact your work life. As a general rule, you can only be sacked for losing your driving license if having it directly impacts your job.
For example, a bus driver or delivery driver can only do their job if they have an
active license
. If they lose their driving privileges, they can’t do their job. As a result, their employer could fire them.
Of course, situations like DUIs or other serious violations could give your employer reason to question your personal judgment. This could be specifically harmful to your career if you’re in fields like medicine, education, or caretaking.
Note that your car insurance rates are likely to rise after a license suspension. To make sure you’re still getting the best price on the car insurance you need, try
