Can a married couple save money by keeping separate insurance policies?
I have a terrible driving record and now that we are married, I am nervous about combining our insurance. I don't want to make his insurance go up. Can we just each keep our own policies? Will keeping my auto policy separate from my husband save us money?

can save as much as 25% for both cars and can only be included when both cars are on the same policy. The married discount may save you an additional 10%.Since you are married, your current insurance company may require you to be listed on each other’s policy even if the cars aren’t.
