Can a home insurance company take pictures of your home and inspect it when you're not around?
Are insurance companies allowed to take photos of your property without notifying you? I found out from my neighbor that an inspector was looking around our house the other day. It was our insurance company, but they didn't let us know someone would be over.

“When signing a home insurance contract, the insurance company’s right to inspect your house may be written in it.
When insurance companies agree to take on your risk, they need to ensure that the house is in the same condition that was reported on the application.
If you recently signed your
home insurance
contract, your insurance company is confirming the information. Companies typically have 45 to 60 days to cancel a policy that was recently purchased if the application contains false information. If your policy is set to renew soon, your insurance company is likely confirming the home’s state before deciding whether to renew.
If the inspection makes you uncomfortable, you should reach out to your insurance company and review the conditions of your policy. If you had agreed to it, you can always try to find a new carrier who may not require it.”
