Are vehicles priced differently based on region?

“The manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) is the same for vehicles, regardless of where they’re shipped in the U.S. But you may still pay more money if you live in a certain state compared to another. This is primarily due to varying fees, registration costs, and most importantly, taxes.
In Minnesota the sales tax is 6.5%, so factor that into your budget. You’ll also have to pay $20 for a plate transfer fee, $14 for the title fee, and a $300 registration fee.
If you’re searching for a deal, you may want to do your car shopping in one of the states without sales tax, specifically Oregon, New Hampshire, Delaware, or Montana. You may have to go on a road trip, but it’s probably worth it to save the thousands of dollars you’d have to pay on Minnesota sales tax.
