Are U-turns legal in California?

I’m going to drive the Pacific Coast Highway this summer and I’m pretty jazzed about it. I just want to make sure I know all of the driving laws in California before I arrive. Can I make a U-turn there?

are similar to elsewhere around the country, including U-turns. U-turns are legal in California, so long as you follow these tips:

Always make your U-turn from the left-most lane

Don’t make a U-turn if a sign prohibits it

Yield to oncoming traffic, including pedestrians, cars, and cyclists
