I’m looking at buying a Toyota Prius for my next car. Are there any options for electric Prius cars or are they only hybrids?

The short answer is no, there are no fully electric options for the
Toyota Prius
. While the original Toyota Prius was a
hybrid vehicle
, with an electric motor and gasoline motor, Toyota now makes an electric hybrid vehicle model called the Prius Prime. The original Prius model could be driven with the power of both gasoline and electricity, and driving the Prius charges the electric motor without having to plug in since it didn’t have an EV plug. The Prius Prime can run completely off of battery power and be plugged in to charge. However, it also has a gasoline engine and needs to be fueled up in order to function properly. In case the battery runs out in the Prius Prime, the gas engine takes over running the car. The Prius Prime is an PHEV, meaning it is an electric vehicle hybrid that has a plug for charging. It also boasts a low charging time at 5 hours and 30 minutes, and increased driving range from the original Prius. You can drive the Prime for about 25 miles on battery alone. You can also save money by taking advantage of hybrid car tax breaks and by shopping for
