Are there any recalls for the Ford Mustang GT?

Buying a sports car is super exciting, but it’s always a good idea to take precautions. Lucky for you, there are only two recalls you need to be aware of when it comes to the
Ford Mustang GT
—and in both recalls, only a small number of vehicles were actually affected. Here are the details:
  • In February 2016, some Mustang GTs manufactured in 2015 were recalled due to a faulty rear braking system.
  • In March 2021, Mustang GTs fitted with select airbag replacement parts after a collision repair were recalled due to the possibility of degradation.
The quickest way to find out whether or not the specific GT you want to buy was affected by one of these recalls and not repaired is to use the recall database on the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration) website. Just plug in the car’s
VIN
, and you’ll get a list of any open recalls on the vehicle.
Remember, if it turns out your vehicle does have an open recall, you can get it fixed free of charge at any certified Ford dealership service center. So make sure you stay up to date on recalls for your vehicle so you can take care of this free service and stay safe on the road!
