Are there any driving restrictions for 18 year olds?

My son is turning 18 and he’s excited to get his license. Can he drive at any time during the day or are there certain restrictions on his license?

Getting your
driver’s permit
is an exciting time! Driving restrictions for 18 year olds differ between states, so it’s important to check with your local DMV before getting behind the wheel.
Most states allow people 18 and older to apply for a full license once they’ve obtained a learner’s permit and fulfilled the requirements. Some states have implemented a graduated licensing program for new drivers aged 18 to 20.
Regardless of what restrictions are on a driver’s license, it’s important to have car insurance that meets the minimum requirements in your state. Newly licensed drivers tend to have higher-than-average insurance premiums, but you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for your new driver.
