Unfortunately, neither the 10-year, 100,000-mile powertrain warranty nor the five-year, 60,000-mile basic warranty will cover spark plugs. Faulty spark plugs are deemed general wear and tear, so you’re on the hook for replacing them. Most new car spark plugs last around 60,000 to 100,000 miles, so you shouldn’t have to worry about replacing them or getting a tuneup for some time.
If you need to replace your spark plugs, you won’t have to spend that much. Long-life spark plugs—such as those made out of iridium or platinum—only cost around $10 to $12, so they won’t break the bank.
