Are my solar panels covered by home insurance?

Typically, your

will cover solar panels under either your dwelling or other structures coverage. That said, some companies place specific restrictions on solar panels or exclude them from coverage. Since you’ve already installed your solar panels, you’ll want to reach out to your insurance company as soon as possible. Even if your insurance covers your panels, you may need to increase your policy limits to ensure your policy would cover their replacement should any damage occur.
