Are electric cars more sustainable?
Are electric cars more sustainable than other personal vehicles? I know they’re easier on the environment, but do they last as long as a diesel or gas vehicle?

Electric cars are more sustainable than any other form of personal vehicle (not counting a bicycle, of course).
Electric cars
have a battery that powers their electric motor—a half-ton chunk of lithium-ion-based power that can last upwards of 10-20 years. That’s why electric cars are most sustainable in the long run, even if the CO2 released as they’re made counteracts some of their eco-friendliness. With a battery that can last two decades, many EVs will be able to have their batteries swapped, and then continue to function long after their first replacement, which is past the lifespan of many regularly-used traditional vehicles. Electric cars also release very little CO2 into the atmosphere, which means for the planet and the air we breathe, electric cars are the most sustainable method of transportation.
