Are certified checks for car loans from a bank always legitimate?
"I'm buying a vehicle from a private seller. I got approved by USAA, but since they have no branches in my area, the seller is leery about accepting a check because he's been burned before.
Is a certified check from USAA always legitimate?"

“USAA has been around for 90 years. They’re a reputable company, so there’s no reason to think that the check would bounce.
If he’s worried about the check bouncing, offer to wait until the check clears before you take the keys from him.
You can also tell him you’ll go to his bank to make sure the check is fine. In most cases, a cashier’s check or certified check is as good as cash.”
