Is a teen driver covered by their parents' car insurance while earning their learner's permit?

Do I need to get her separate insurance? My daughter is going to get her learner's permit this year. She won't have her own car for at least another year and will be driving our Toyota while she learns to drive.

Yes, the teen driver is covered.
You should contact your insurance provider to verify whether your teen can be listed with a
permit
or if the company prefers to wait until they have their driver’s license.

car insurance rates
for young drivers are often expensive becuase young drivers are considered high-risk.
