The Subaru Crosstrek, Forester, and Outback are all featured under the SUV category on CR’s list of ‘Most-Loved Car Models That Keep Owners Satisfied.’ This list is based on 2020 survey results, and whether owners said they would buy the same car again. This makes up the owner satisfaction score, and the top ratings made the list.
The three SUVs listed all have unique attributes and technologies that cater to the needs of the owners. The 2021 models have high scores for owner satisfaction.
2021 Subaru Crosstrek
The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek has good fuel mileage, which CR measured as 29 mpg overall, easy-to-use controls, and a spacious backseat. Owners are most satisfied with the styling of the Crosstrek and 77% of owners would buy it again. The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek by Subaru comes standard with all-wheel drive and EyeSight safety and convenience features.

Overall, Subaru Forester owners were satisfied with the driving experience, comfort, and styling of the SUV. 79% of owners would buy this car again. The base price for the 2021 Subaru Forester is $24,795. The Forester had the highest Overall Score out of the three SUVs at 89.
2021 Subaru Outback
The last Subaru on the list, in the midsized 2-row SUVs category, is the 2021 Subaru Outback. Its elevated ground clearance gives it light off-road capability. It’s a functional SUV with high satisfaction scores for comfort. 80% of owners would buy the Subaru Outback again.
The Outback starts at $26,795, and CR measured its overall mileage to be around 24 mpg. Its Overall Score was 86, though there were some issues with the vehicle’s controls and a slow responding infotainment screen.
