Nissan Goes Rogue (One) With a Star Wars Limited Edition Vehicle

Nissan joins the Alliance
Late in 2016, Nissan announced a partnership with Lucasfilm Ltd., the home of the Star Wars franchise. It was a fitting pairing for both parties. The name of the latest installment in the Star Wars universe at the time was Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Nissan conveniently had a four-door SUV called the Rogue, which they had been making since 2008.
Nissan zeroed in on this opportunity to promote its latest version of the Rogue. The 2017 update included more advanced safety features, which landed it an award as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS, according to
Motor Trend
. It also offered some fun new add-ins. Among these were motion-activated liftgates, a new steering wheel shape, and redesigned taillights.What’s special about the Nissan Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition?
For the promotion,
Nissan
added extra features to 5,400 of its 2017 fleet. These vehicles were equipped with Star Wars elements that turned sports utility into Rebel transport. The limited-edition Rogue was offered in either Magnetic Black or Glacier White. The interior features “Rebel Alliance'' and “Galactic Empire” logos on cupholder inserts, floor mats, and kickplates.
The exterior is a bit more subtle. The Rogue One distinction is marked by small decals and an emblazoned “STAR WARS” on the top of the bumper. To the untrained eye, this Rogue would look just like any other—like Han Solo and Luke Skywalker disguised among Stormtroopers.
Buyers of this limited edition Rogue were also treated to their own Death Trooper helmet. For the uninitiated, a Death Trooper is the more elite version of a Stormtrooper.

As for the car’s specs, rest assured—no unexpected jumps to hyperspeed. The Nissan Rogue: Rogue One Star Wars Limited Edition is the same under the hood as the 2017 Rogue, but it doesn’t come as a hybrid. It features a 170-horsepower engine and options for Sport and Eco mode, as well as a host of other intelligent features. You can’t voyage to Tatooine, but you can drive around in style.
