has reported, to celebrate the Challenger's success on the market in recent years, as well as its 50th anniversary, Dodge has released a special anniversary package for the vehicle. In recognition of the year the Challenger was first released, 1970 (the era of other
as well), Dodge has produced only 70 cars in each trim and color combination.
One of the package's main features is a special Shaker hood that will be available on the R/T Scat Pack Widebody model. The anniversary Challenger also comes with trim-specific Gold School painted alloy wheels, while cars equipped with Brembo brakes have had their usual bright red finish on the calipers replaced with new gunmetal finish.
To fully brand these anniversary edition cars, "50" logos appear on the seats, dashboard, floor mats, and other places around the vehicles. Other additions to the interior include a yellow-themed gauge cluster and sepia stitching on the dashboard, seats, and steering wheel, along with carbon-fiber accenting.
The anniversary package starts at $4,995.
What are the specs on the Commemorative Edition Dodge Challenger?
In addition to the Anniversary Edition Challenger, Dodge also released a special Commemorative Edition not subject to the same production limits as its predecessor.
explains, the Commemorative Edition is only available in the R/T, R/T Scat Pack, and R/T Scat Pack Widebody models. Included in this package are a black-wrapped roof, a hand-painted black hood, and headlights with LED-illuminated "50" logos.
Also making the Commemorative Edition stand out are spoiler badges in "Gold School" finish and unique badging on the grille. What's more, the gas tank door is painted black and sports the word "Fuel," while the taillights feature black "Dodge" badges. The car also comes with 20-in. gold wheels.
Like the Anniversary Edition, the Commemorative Challenger features heated and ventilated performance seats, real carbon fiber on the instrument panel, and white-faced gauges with yellow accents on the instrument cluster screen. You'll also find the "50" logos emblazoned throughout the vehicle.
How do the two Dodge Challenger editions compare overall?
In truth, there isn't a whole lot of difference between these two packages. Both start at $4,995, and both feature similar styling, paint, logos, and upgrades.
The main difference between the two is availability. As we mentioned above, the Anniversary Edition had very limited production. No such limits apply to the Commemorative Edition, however.
Anyone interested in purchasing a Commemorative Edition Challenger should be able to get their hands on one. Keep in mind, though, that it's available on fewer models than the Anniversary Edition.
