battle for sales supremacy every year, and 2022 will be no different.Despite their recent setbacks, GM looks like they’ve come out swinging with their 2022 lineup, specifically with the new Chevy Silverado.

reported that the Silverado upgrades will give Chevy a chance to surpass Ford and Ram in sales.
GM and Chevy respond to being outpaced by Ram
Ford has been number one for best-selling trucks in the nation for the last 44 years. They have a strong hold on the market, but GM and Chevy have plans to try and upend the heavyweight manufacturer.
Below Ford, Chevy and its Silverado typically sit at the number two spot which the brand has never been unseated from—until now. The

got a boost in sales as the Silverado’s numbers simultaneously went down. Ram sold the second-most number of pickups in 2021.GM is looking to overtake its competitors to have the top-selling truck in America, with help from the 2022 Chevy Silverado.
What upgrades come with the 2022 Chevy Silverado?
According to Car and Driver, the 2021 Silverado is no match for the Ford F-150 or the Ram 1500 of the same model year. However, GM set out to change that with their 2022 model. The look of the Silverado has been upgraded with more expensive materials and a redesigned dashboard. The highest-level trim package, the High Country, comes with open-pore wood in the interior.
The gauge cluster comprises a 12.3-inch digital display, and the dash contains a 13.4-inch landscape infotainment touchscreen. The F-150 and Ram 1500 screens measure up to only 12 inches or less. The Silverado features Google voice assistance and maps, as well as wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
One of the most noteworthy upgrades, though, is Super Cruise integration. Super Cruise is a
hands-free driving
tool that can take over steering for extended periods. The feature will only be available with the High Country package.The truck’s physical capabilities have also been improved. The Silverado has an enhanced turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine, updated to provide 20% more torque. Some models are equipped with a Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six that can tow up to 13,300 pounds when paired with the Max Trailering Package.
Will the Silverado beat out trucks from Ram and Ford?
Many of the interior upgrades and new tech features will only be offered in higher trims. Car and Driver believes the top-of-the-line High Country will help the Silverado better compete with the F-150 Platinum and Ram 1500 Limited models.
The lower-level Silverado trims won’t be too far behind. All Silverado models will come standard with lane keeping assist, emergency braking, and other safety features. The truck also includes an updated font style to add an extra level of class.
The new Silverado will be a lot better equipped to compete with its rivals and potentially surpass them in sales.
