will release an exclusive model for their brand—the BMW M5 CS. The car will be available for exactly one model year and then it’s gone forever. If this head-turning, flashy,
The BMW M5 CS has a hefty price tag—cars of this model are starting at $142,995 when they’re released in 2022. The car will be available in most places throughout the world, but has specific target markets in North America, Russia, the United Kingdom, and Germany.
The biggest change that comes with the M5 CS is how much lighter the car is than any of its predecessors. BMW worked hard to make this their lightest model yet, which means it can go very fast, and they succeeded—the M5 CS is an entire 230 pounds lighter than the M5 Competition BMW.
To make the car lighter, BMW used carbon-fiber—a lightweight material—to make the hood, front splitter, mirror housings, rear diffuser and splitter, all of the seats inside the car, and the center console. Inside the car, you can expect to see two front seats and two captain’s chair bucket seats in back, instead of a three-person bench. Additionally, the center console does not open up for storage, also saving weight.
The car has four stainless steel exhaust pipes, so when you hit the gas you’ll definitely be heard. This car can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.9 seconds! The inside features details like CS badges and carbon shift paddles. The outside of the car looks just as nice as it sounds, with gold details on the wheels and models available in two new colors—dark green and dark gray.
BMW M5 CS compared to other BMW models
The BMW M5 CS is more expensive than any other BMW M5 model, by a little over $30,000. The M5 Sedan comes in at around $103,500 and the M5 Competition around $110,000. Beyond that, the biggest difference is the light weight of this car compared to other BMW models, like we mentioned earlier.
There are a few small details outside of the big changes that make the M5 CS different, like the Alcantara headliner and steering wheel, the CS badges on the dashboard and rear seats, and the Nürburgring silhouette on the headrests. Plus, this car has no manual transmission.
Rest assured, your favorite features of the BMW are still included in the M5 CS. The car features an all-wheel-drive system, and an eight-speed automatic to make sure you still get the usual, smooth, BMW ride if you invest in an M5 CS.
