, just to name a few. The German automaker continues its long list of launches with the 2022 Porsche Macan, which is pumped up with some new features. The Macan brings the best of both worlds, blending high performance with utility. It doubles as both a
sports car
and SUV, prioritizing practicality without sacrificing luxury. 
What’s the same about the 2022 Porsche Macan?
According to
Car and Driver
, the 2022 Porsche Macan has a lot in common with its predecessors, especially when it comes to power and performance. Like older models, the new Macan comes with a 2.9-liter V6 turbocharged engine, which can generate 434 horsepower and a torque of 22 pound-feet. All Macans come with all-wheel drive and automatic transmission, and the 2022 release is no exception. Plus, it hits the same speedy 0-60 mph time as last year’s Macan, at only 3.5 seconds.
What’s new about the 2022 Porsche Macan?
The new Macan comes with an improved braking system, as well as front and rear dampers that are substantially firmer than in previous models. Car and Driver’s road test revealed impressive results for skid-pad grip and stopping capabilities.
While the model’s design has been slightly revamped, these updates are largely in line with Porsche’s other 2022 models. The 2022 Macan features the same new steering wheel that the 2022 Porsche 911 has, and its new control panels match the rest of the automaker’s lineup.

—Papaya Metallic, Gentian Blue Metallic, and Python Green. It also offers infotainment upgrades, including Apple CarPlay connectivity, a boosted audio system, and a 10.9-inch touchscreen. The 2022 model is a bit more expensive than last year’s, with a base price of $81,250.

The Sport version of the 2022 Porsche Macan comes with a “Sport Chrono” package, which according to Car and Driver, offers “controlled limited-slip rear differential,” as well “18-way adaptive sport seats” and “black-out exterior details.”
Moreover, the Sport version allows for better handling and a smoother ride. Car and Driver speculates that it is likely to be the better option for the majority of drivers.
Consumer Reports
recommends getting the GTS 2.9-liter V6 turbo engine for a more powerful ride. That being said, the base 2-liter engine will still pack a punch. Opting for the Premium Package Plus will add some extra goodies to the package, such as HID headlights and a moonroof. Regardless of which version you get, the 2022 Porsche Macan is sure to please. Consumer Reports gives it an overall score of 78 out of 100, with an impressive road test rating of 84 out of 100 and predicted reliability and owner satisfaction scores of 4 out of 5.
Overall, the new Macan scores well in almost every category, with the exception of fuel economy (2 out of 5), which shouldn’t be a surprise for this sporty vehicle.
