Where can I find my Isuzu’s paint code?

You’ll be able to find the paint code of your Isuzu in one of five places depending on the model you drive:
  • The driver’s side
  • The middle console
  • The passenger side
  • A doorjamb
  • The glove box
Once you find the paint code, you can use this

to find your car’s exact hue. Most Isuzu paint codes are three characters long and contain numbers.

What if there’s no paint code on the car’s label?

If you have an older Isuzu model, you might need to try using the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to find the paint code. VINs are easy to spot—they consist of 17 letters and numbers.
Here is where you can find the VIN in your Isuzu:
  • Stamped into the chassis
  • Attached to the bulkhead
  • On the driver’s side doorjamb
  • Bottom of the windscreen in later models
Your car dealership will be able to look up the paint code for you if you call them and provide the VIN.

Where can I get paint for my Isuzu?

When you have the paint code, it’s time to order paint! You can order from the Isuzu website directly, or browse online or in-store for paint touch-up packages. Your options are wide open as long as you have your car’s paint code!

Paint touch-up tips

The time has come to get painting! Your paint is here and you’re ready to remove those scratches from your car. Here are some helpful tips to make the process easier:
  • Wash the damaged area with water and soap
  • If you see any rust, wear it away using a wire brush or fine sandpaper
  • Apply primer to any bare metal or plastic you’re going to paint over, and let it dry overnight. Create an even painting surface by gently sanding it once it’s dry.
  • Paint the damaged area with your paint color that matches the rest of the car. Apply several coats of paint, allowing 20 minutes in between each one. Let the final layer of paint fully dry overnight.
  • Apply a clear protective coat using the same method you used with the paint—layer on multiple coats, and let it dry overnight.
  • Use a rubbing compound to buff the area after three days to make the paint shine!
Here’s a helpful hint: depending on the extent of the damage to the paint job, you might be able to get away with purchasing a smaller paint pack or a paint pen instead of a full-sized paint can.

Yes! Touching up your car’s paint on your own is actually fairly easy—you will need the paint code to order the matching shade, which will ensure a seamless touch-up. However, it’s best to go to a professional if your car needs a full-body paint job.
