! How to change the radio on a 2018 Chrysler 300
You don’t need to know much about cars or electronics in order to replace your car radio. All you have to do is remove the front bezel, unfasten four screws, slide the old radio out, unclasp the wires from its back, and then insert a new radio unit in its place.
In order to tackle this project, you’ll need a new radio unit that’s compatible with your car, a Phillips screwdriver, a flat-head screwdriver (or a plastic pry tool), and a few minutes of spare time.

1. Disconnect the battery
Any time that you’re doing electrical work on your car, you should disconnect the battery. This will prevent you from getting a nasty shock while you work. You only need to disconnect the negative cable. When you do, make sure not to touch it to anything, and lay it down somewhere isolated.
2. Remove the bezel
The bezel is a large square piece of plastic trim that surrounds the entire central control console in your Chrysler. You can’t miss it—it runs along the outside of the panel with the radio and AC controls.
There aren’t any screws or bolts holding the bezel in place—just a bit of good old fashion friction. To remove it, gently pry the bezel out with a flat-head screwdriver. Just take care not to crack or scratch the plastic in the process. You can also use a plastic pry tool for this if you have one.
The bezel should pop pretty easily. Before you can fully remove it, though, you’ll need to reach behind it and gently disconnect the claps holding the wires to it.
3. Unscrew the four mounting screws
When you’ve got the bezel off, you’ll be able to see the four screws holding the radio unit in place. Using your Phillips screwdriver, remove these screws and set them aside somewhere safe—you’ll need them to fasten down the new radio in just a moment.
4. Remove the radio
With the four screws removed, you’ll be able to slide the OEM radio right out. Just like the bezel, the radio will have wires clasped to its back. When you’ve pulled it about halfway out, reach back and detach the wires. Then you’ll be able to slide it out the rest of the way.
5. Install the new radio
Next, you’ll need to attach the wires that were connected to the old radio to the new one. The claps should pop right into place on the back of your new radio. Once all the appropriate wires are connected, slide the new radio into place. As long as you’ve made sure to purchase a compatible radio, it should slide in easily.
Grab your four mounting screws and use them to secure the new radio into position. Reattach the wires to the back of the bezel and press it back into place—it should click in with a little pressure.
And that’s it! Now you’ll just need to reconnect the negative battery cable and enjoy your new radio!
